Sizing Guide & Fabric Care
At Curated Studio, each piece is thoughtfully selected from a range of designers and makers. Because styles, fabrics, and cuts vary, the way a garment fits may differ between designs — even when the size label is the same.
This guide is here to help you choose the best size and care for your pieces so they stay looking beautiful, wear after wear.
Sizing Information
Our size guide is intended as a general reference only. Fit can vary depending on:
-
Style and design intention (fitted, relaxed, oversized)
-
Fabric type and stretch
-
Lining, tailoring, and structure
-
Minor manufacturing variations between batches
This approach is consistent with sizing guidance used by Australian fashion boutiques.
How we help you choose the right size
-
Where possible, product pages include fit notes such as true to size, oversized, stretch fabric, or no stretch.
-
Some styles may include garment measurements specific to that item.
-
If you’re unsure, we encourage you to contact us before purchasing — we’re always happy to help.
How to Measure Yourself
Use a soft measuring tape and stand naturally. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
-
Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust
-
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips
Tip:
If a product page lists garment measurements, compare them to a similar item you already own. Garments are often measured flat and then doubled to show circumference.

If you’re between sizes
-
Prefer a relaxed fit → choose the larger size
-
Prefer a fitted look → choose the smaller size (only if the fabric has stretch)
If your measurement sits at the upper end of a range, many boutiques recommend sizing up — especially for structured or non-stretch fabrics.
Fit Terms You’ll See on Our Website
To keep sizing consistent, we use the following terms:
-
True to size: Designed to fit standard AU sizing
-
Runs small / runs large: Fit differs from standard sizing
-
Fitted: Designed to sit close to the body
-
Relaxed: Extra room through the body
-
Oversized: Intentionally loose (do not size up unless desired)
-
No stretch / slight stretch / stretch: Indicates fabric flexibility
